During my childhood, while playing long street games, we often found ourselves craving snacks, and during such moments, we would start searching for various sources of food. For this purpose, the easily accessible orchards in the housing estate were perfect: the ground-level strawberries enclosed by low fences, raspberry bushes hanging over the neighbours' fences, and fruit trees; in this case, the apple tree. The procurement operation involved the boys simply aiming stones at the apples and throwing them until they fell onto the grass. As soon as an apple landed, a race would ensue to grab it.
